Michael ‘Woolie’ Woolaway / Builders & Bikes / MotoGeo

MotoGeo heads down to Deus Ex Machina in Venice, Los Angeles to catch up with the man behind many beautiful custom motorcycles, and a powerful 200+HP Pikes Peak racer.

The man behind a brutal 200HP+ custom Pikes Peak racer and many other gorgeous Deus Ex Machina custom machines, is none other than Michael ‘Woolie’ Woolaway.

So before he took off to Pikes Peak, to go and race his own creation, MotoGeo popped down to his workshop in Venice, Los Angeles, to chat about the build, and then take it for a quick spin around the block.

Moto + Adventure = MotoGeo

Massive thanks to Woolie for letting me ride this awesome machine, definitely check him out!

Pikes Peak 1198RS Specs:

Builder/Shop Name: Michael Woolaway

Bike Name: 1198RS PP

Make: Ducati / Deus

Model:   ( the frame swing arm and motor cases are Ducati Hypermotard ) the rest was built by Woolie.

Year: Built in 2017/18

Engine:

The motor was built using the stock Hypermotard cases and Woolie stuffed a 1198RS motor into them, making around 220 crank horsepower at 12,000 RPM.

There was the need to make a ram-air system to feed the hungry motor, and he top loaded this.

Details/mods:

Woolie used .60 Chromemoly steel for the subframe,  The gas tank was made using .80 1100 O Aluminum. All the Carbon fiber was molded from parts I made out of aluminum by Taylor Made Racing in Van Nuys CA using an aerospace grade material. The electronics are Microtech with no traction control. The bike in the end made 200HP at the wheel and the weight is 344lbs wet full of fuel.
