    Mugello:

The circuit is in natural bowl in the Tuscany hillside with viewing all around, so you can see a lot of the track action wherever you are sitting.

The sound of these high performance machines fills every corner of the bowl, creating an electric atmosphere wherever you go.

It’s 5.23km and 3.3miles long circuit with a 1.1km straight, where Andrea Dovizioso set the fastest ever speed in MotoGP 356.4km/h in 2018.

The passion for motorcycles rings through the hillsides as the party continues 24 hours a day with engines revving, horns blowing and music blasting.

    Location:

Mugello Circuit is buried in the beautiful Tuscany countryside about a mile from the small town of Scarperia about an hour north of Florence.

To arrive at the track they recommend you take the bus or train as it can get super congested so if you can avoid being stuck in that traffice then take the bus or train. The trick is to arrive early, setup camp and don’t leave until late Sunday evening.

The best way to cut down on congestion is to, of course, go on your motorbike, but even then if you time it wrongly, you’re be barely moving for hours as fans leave the track.

If you’re heading north, my top tip is to take the back road SP503 through Firenzuola to avoid queues of campervans and traffic all the way to the highways around.

Other recommendation if you’re heading north is to ride the awesome Futa Pass! This is one of the most fun roads I’ve ridden, the SP65 that goes almost all the way from Mugello to Bologna, ride it, you’ll never regret it!

Trains go to San Piero a Sieve about 3km from Scarperia or Borgo San Lorenzo about 5km from Scarperia, be aware there are no buses from San Piero to Scarperia on Sunday. There are shuttle buses on Sunday but these are always buses so be prepared to walk.

    Accommodation:

Most proper accommodation in Scarperia is booked out months in advance, you can camp in the circuit if you have a ticket. We wild camped in a field, but got robbed whilst we slept so be super careful if you’re planning on doing this and never leave anything valuable in the tent!

If you leave accommodation until the last minute, the chances are you’ll only find something in Florence, however you can get a bus from Florence to the circuit from the Santa Maria Novella train station, this will take you to Scarperia and the walk from there is about 1.5km

    Other:

Mugello race track is one of the few circuits where you can still access the track at the end of the race and watch the podium, the atmosphere is fantastic and worth the walk. In previous years people have also stormed the track on their scooters, I’m not sure if they still allow this but everybody was having a ball.

If you’re heading to Mugello for the MotoGP, you’ll have a great time, watching the fastest riders in the world and partying like only the passionate Italian fans know how!
